Let's be a part of the Dengue Prevention Movement with #Ayo3MPlusVaksinDBD!

PREVENT DENGUE INFECTION

Moms and Dads, dengue is a disease that has become a serious threat to the communities in various regions of Indonesia! This disease is caused by the dengue virus, transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.1 This time, we will discuss the #Ayo3MPlusVaksinDBD movement, which is a campaign to prevent the escalation of dengue.

What is the #Ayo3MPlusVaksinDBD Movement?

#Ayo3MPlusVaksinDBD is a movement that encourages the community to practice the 3M Plus (Menguras, Menutup, Mendaur Ulang) or Drain, Cover, Recycle and dengue vaccination, which includes:2

  1. Draining water storage containers regularly
  2. Sealing water storage containers tightly
  3. Utilizing/recycling used goods waste

The "Plus" in this case represents additional preventive efforts against mosquito bites and mosquito breeding. In addition to the three actions that were mentioned, the #Ayo3MPlusVaksinDBD movement also encourages the community to undergo vaccination. Vaccination is a supplementary preventive action that complements the 3M Plus movement. The dengue vaccine available in Indonesia has been approved by the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM RI).5

The Dengue vaccine has been developed as a complementary effort in preventing dengue. Through the administration of the dengue vaccine, it is hoped that the number of cases and complications caused by dengue can be reduced. So, get ready Moms and Dads!3

Approval from the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan POM) for Dengue Vaccine

In August 2022, the dengue vaccine received regulatory approval from Badan POM to be distributed across all the regions in Indonesia. This regulatory approval signifies that the vaccine has undergone a series of clinical trials and has been deemed to have safety profile and efficacious in preventing dengue! With this regulatory approval, the dengue vaccine is now accessible to the Indonesian public, who meet the specified age criteria, including your family!

Now, Moms and Dads don't need to worry because the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) has released the Children's Immunization Schedule for 2023, featuring the latest update on the dengue vaccine as a part of integrated efforts to prevent dengue caused by dengue virus! This new dengue vaccine is aksi recommended for children.4

The update on the dengue vaccine in the Children's Immunization Schedule for 2023 marks a significant step in complementing efforts to combat dengue in Indonesia. As Moms and Dads know, the dengue virus is a major cause of dengue that affects children's health.

Not only for children, but vaccination is also intended for Moms and Dads who are adults, according to the approval granted by the Badan POM.

By giving the vaccine according to the recommended schedule, it is expected to build immunity against the dengue virus and prevent more severe cases of dengue. Giving the dengue vaccine can minimize the risk of dengue virus infection and the severity of symptoms.3 Therefore, it is important for parents and individuals who meet the criteria to consider vaccination as part of efforts to prevent dengue.

Get Doctor's Recommendations for Dengue Vaccination

Moms and Dads! Vaccination is one of important steps in preventing dengue, and it is advisable to seek recommendations from a doctor before undergoing vaccination. For individuals who meet the age criteria and recommendations from IDAI and BPOM, getting the dengue vaccine is a proactive step in self-prevention against dengue.
